Getting Started

What to expect before, during, and after your first visit.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Appointments may be scheduled at any time through our online booking system. Patients in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York can easily access virtual visits.

Many patients begin with a complimentary discovery call or an initial telehealth visit to review health concerns and wellness goals. If you prefer not to book online, you may contact our office through the website contact form.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Your first visit is comprehensive and patient centered. Your provider will review your medical history, current symptoms, lifestyle factors, and personal health goals.

You will have dedicated time to discuss concerns and priorities. Together, we create a personalized care plan designed to support both physical and emotional well being.

How long are appointments?

Discovery calls are approximately 15 minutes. Initial visits are typically 60 minutes. Follow up appointments range from 30 to 60 minutes depending on your care plan. Visits are never rushed.

Insurance, Payment, and Policies

Clear information about costs, coverage, and scheduling expectations.

Do you accept insurance?

We are not currently in network with insurance plans. Patients may request a superbill for possible out of network reimbursement depending on individual benefits.

This direct care model allows for longer visits, deeper evaluation, and more personalized care without insurance limitations.

Can I use my HSA or FSA card?

Many services and lab tests are eligible for HSA or FSA use. We recommend confirming eligibility with your plan administrator.

What is your cancellation policy?

We request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or schedule changes. A cancellation fee may apply for late notice or missed appointments.

Functional Medicine Care

How our approach differs and who benefits most from functional medicine.

What is the difference between functional medicine and traditional primary care?

Traditional primary care often focuses on diagnosing disease and managing symptoms. Functional medicine looks at the whole person, including lifestyle, nutrition, stress, environment, and underlying imbalances.

This approach helps identify why symptoms are occurring and supports long term wellness and prevention.

Should I see a functional medicine practitioner in Connecticut?

If you are in Connecticut and experiencing unresolved symptoms such as fatigue, bloating, digestive concerns, hormone issues, or anxiety, functional medicine may be an appropriate option.

Our practice provides virtual care across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. Many patients value the deeper evaluation and personalized approach functional medicine offers.

Is functional medicine worth the cost?

Functional medicine is an investment in long term health. Instead of brief visits and repeated prescriptions, care focuses on comprehensive evaluation and individualized plans designed for lasting improvement.

Many patients find that addressing root causes reduces long term healthcare costs and frustration.

Conditions We Commonly Support

Health concerns we frequently help patients improve through personalized care.

What conditions do you treat?

We commonly support digestive concerns, hormone and thyroid imbalance, weight management challenges, fatigue, inflammation, autoimmune conditions, metabolic health issues, and mental wellness concerns.

Each plan is personalized based on how lifestyle, environment, and physiology interact to influence health.

Will functional medicine help my hormones?

Yes. Hormone balance is one of the most common reasons patients seek functional medicine care. This may include thyroid disorders, perimenopause, menopause, PCOS, or adrenal related symptoms.

Evaluation includes laboratory testing when appropriate, lifestyle assessment, nutrition review, and stress management. Many patients notice improvements in energy, mood, sleep, and overall well being within weeks.

Can you help with thyroid or hormone imbalance?

Yes. Thyroid and hormone imbalances often contribute to fatigue, weight changes, mood concerns, and reduced quality of life. We provide comprehensive evaluation and personalized treatment plans to support balance and optimal function.

Testing, Treatments, and Therapies

How we evaluate root causes and design individualized treatment plans.

Do you offer functional medicine testing?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, we offer testing to identify underlying contributors to symptoms. This may include gastrointestinal analysis, hormone evaluation, nutrient testing, inflammation markers, microbiome assessment, and cardiometabolic screening.

Do I need a prescription for treatment?

Not always. Treatment plans may include nutrition guidance, lifestyle strategies, professional grade supplements, and when appropriate, prescription medications.

We prioritize effective and least invasive options aligned with your goals and clinical needs.

What supplements are commonly recommended?

Supplement needs vary by individual. Common foundational supplements for many adults may include magnesium, omega 3 fatty acids, and vitamin D3 with K2. All recommendations are personalized based on labs, lifestyle, and medical history.

Is bioidentical hormone therapy a fad?

Bioidentical hormone therapy is not a fad, but it is not appropriate for everyone. BHRT may be helpful for perimenopause, menopause, or hormone imbalance when guided by proper testing, individualized dosing, and close medical monitoring.

Weight Management

Medically supervised options for safe and sustainable weight loss.

Do you prescribe weight loss medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide?

We offer medically supervised weight management programs that may include medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide when clinically appropriate.

Programs also include nutrition guidance, lifestyle coaching, and regular follow up to support safe, sustainable progress.

Telehealth and Coordination of Care

How virtual care works and how we collaborate with your other providers.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes. We provide secure virtual visits for patients across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. Telehealth offers convenient access to high quality care.

Can telehealth support complex health concerns?

Telehealth is effective for many chronic and functional health concerns, including digestive issues, metabolic imbalance, nutritional deficiencies, and endocrine conditions.

When in person evaluation or testing is needed, we guide patients to appropriate local resources.

Can I continue seeing my primary care provider or specialist?

Yes. We believe in collaborative care and encourage patients to continue relationships with existing providers. We are happy to coordinate care when appropriate.

Privacy and Next Steps

Your confidentiality, expected progress, and how to move forward.

How is my privacy protected?

We follow all HIPAA regulations and use secure, encrypted systems to safeguard personal health information. Confidentiality is a core standard of our practice.

How soon can I expect to feel better?

Many patients notice improvements in energy, digestion, sleep, and mental clarity within weeks of starting care. Long term results are supported through ongoing guidance and realistic lifestyle changes.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required. You may schedule directly with our office and begin care when ready.
